Kamiak Shadows features two poems written in response to Hannah Levy’s “Staying With the Pause: Emotive Landscape Dances.” The collaboration process that Julian Ankney and Linda Russo undertook included individually selecting stills from the video and writing, separately, a poem incorporating the stills. The focus on shadows came as a surprise and begs the question: when shadows speak, who speaks? What do they say? And who listens?
